In 1871, Jesse James and the James-Younger gang robbed a bank in Corydon, Iowa. Accounts of the amount of money taken that day differ wildly from as little as $6,000 to as much as $45,000. This 1871 silver three cent coin recalls the first time that the Pinkerton Detective Agency was called in to search for the gang.
