1879 $4 STELLA, FLOWING HAIR PCGS PR65 CAC

Here is a Gem Proof 1879 Stella Stella, Flowing Hair with satiny texture and proof finish, certified PCGS PR65. The four-dollar Stella was conceived as an international trade coinage proposal and remains one of the most celebrated U.S. pattern gold issues. Attribution specialists will note Flowing Hair. The census position adds useful perspective: only 425 were struck. For proof gold and silver collectors, surface preservation and finish are often as important as the numeric grade. The result is a coin with technical substance as well as the historical presence expected by serious specialists.
