1865 $20 LIBERTY J-453 PCGS PR66 Brown

An appealing certified PR66BN representative of 1865 $20 Liberty J-453, this piece shows carefully preserved proof surfaces, cameo contrast. The J-453, Regular Dies, Rarity-6+ attribution links the coin to a narrowly collected experimental issue. The issue reflects the Mint's experimental side, a dimension of U.S. numismatics that often survives in very small numbers. Certified population data adds context: the coin is reported as tied for finest certified. The cameo designation is important because contrast between fields and devices is a key visual element.
