Coin Description

Here is a About Uncirculated 1871-CC Liberty Head double eagle with well-defined striking detail and active luster, certified PCGS AU55. Carson City double eagles combine western frontier history with the substantial format of the Liberty Head twenty-dollar series. The census position adds useful perspective: only three coins have been graded higher by PCGS. The limited wear is consistent with an advanced circulated-grade survivor, where surface quality remains crucial. The result is a coin with technical substance as well as the historical presence expected by serious specialists.
