One of the rarest Carson City Mint Eagles, the 1876-CC can be extremely difficult to locate in today's market irrespective of grade.  In terms of total number of coins known, the '76-CC is the eighth rarest of 19 CC-mint deliveries in this 19th century gold series.  It is rarer than such other deliveries as the 1871-CC and 1874-CC.  In high grades, the 1876-CC is ranked even higher.  The fifth-rarest Carson City Mint Eagle in the various AU grades, this issue is rarer than all other CC-mint Tens at this level with the exception of the 1870-CC, 1872-CC, 1873-CC and 1875-CC.  Currently unknown in Mint State, the 1876-CC was produced to the extent of just 4,696 pieces.
