1890 LIBERTY $5 PCGS PR66 Deep Cameo CAC

Gem Proof 1890 LIBERTY $5, certified PR66DCAM by PCGS, presents as a carefully preserved example of its issue. Its visual appeal is led by mirrored fields, frosted devices, deep cameo contrast; high-grade preservation. Half eagles were a cornerstone of 19th-century gold commerce, and better preserved examples are closely studied for originality and surface quality. Original production is recorded at only 88 pieces. The reported census of 2 at this grade and 1 finer underscores its limited certified availability. Gold specialists will appreciate the way date, mint, and grade converge in this certified example.
