In 1909, the United States Navy opened their base at Pearl Harbor on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. Thirty-two years later the base would once again make headlines after it was attacked by 353 Japanese aircraft. The attack on Pearl Harbor would lead to the United States’ entrance into WWII. Could this 1909 double eagle have been present at this disaster which would go on to help turn the tide of the war and subsequently the post-war world?
